Supporting “Protect Our West” with Coors Banquet

Hollywood’s Productions, Inc.’s client, Coors Banquet (MillerCoors), did some amazing things with the Wildland Firefighter Foundation to “Protect Our West” in 2014 and in 2015, they are doing it again!

Coors Banquet teamed up with television, radio and print, as well as online peer community company, Cowboy Lifestyle Network. In addition to the following MLB teams: Arizona Diamondbacks, Seattle Mariners and San Fransisco Giants.

If you didn’t already know, the non-profit Wildland Firefighter Foundation assists firefighters and the families of firefighters injured or killed while battling grass and forest fires throughout the region. Just two years ago, the sixth deadliest wildfire disaster overall and the deadliest wildfire ever in Yarnell, Arizona took place. On June 30, 2013 the fire killed 19 city of Prescott firefighters, members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots.

This year, from May 22 through September 7, the Wildland Firefighter Foundation will receive 25 cents for every case of Coors Banquet sold in Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon and Washington, up to $250,000. Pete Coors, chairman of the board of MillerCoors and great grandson of Coors Brewing Company founder is pleased to assist the men and women who risk their lives to “protect our west.”

The Wildland Firefighter Foundation has done many things to honor our past, present and future firefighters and the people who support them. After the tragic 1994 Wildland fire season, when 34 firefighters perished, a Monument site was identified at the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, Idaho. With great thought and dedication, the Wildland Firefighter Monument came to fruition. Firefighters, their families, Interagency hotshot crews, Native American firefighters, smokejumpers, representatives of state and local fire, rescue and emergency medical teams, pilots and military support staff were there to dedicate the monument with pride.

The organization’s endeavors did not stop there. The Wildland Firefighter Foundation created a program for supporters to be a part of history by purchasing a personalized brick that would be placed at the Wildland Firefighter Monument. These bricks included everything from names of children, friends, companies, to deceased loved ones. The bricks cost $49 and are still available but are only sold once a year. Do you want to help “protect our west?” Pick up a case of Coors Banquet next time you throw your next barbecue, or consider buying a brick in honor of your loved one and help support the cause
